Game Incubators

Under a separate 501 charitable foundation, Games-Florida will construct and maintain start-up game incubators in several locations in Florida. Each incubator will house all of the computer equipment and software necessary for a development team to create a fully functional "demo" of their game, necessary to obtain a contract with a major publisher to fund the rest of the development. These incubators, in addition to providing an environment to developers' game demos, will also provide guidance and community building aspects to create additional new development studios in Florida. It is estimated that with a concerted effort, these incubators could well generate as many as 10 to 12 new development studios in this state each year.
